Asolo

Within easy reach from Treviso , the road of the wines of Montello and the Asolo hills winds its way through one of the most harmonious and picturesque hill side scenarios in the Province of Treviso. The road offers many historical landmarks as well sites where traditional festivals are carried out throughout the year. It begins its course at Nervesa della Battaglia and heads southward, Montebelluna and then continues on to Maser and finally the lovely mediaeval town of Asolo with its ancient walls shadowy portals, frescoed palazzi and sumptuous villas, deservedly called " the town of a hundred vistas", by the poet Carducci. Well worth seeing is villa Barbaro at maser. This villa is a true gem of artist Paolo Veronese. The wines of the Montello and Asolo hills came into being owing to the mild climate of the area and particular characteristic of the terrain.
The D .O.C wines are prosecco, merlot and cabernet.
