Visit inTreviso
The city of Treviso is about
30 kilometres north of Venice. Evocative streams created by the
joining of Botteniga river together with Sile river pass through
the city, giving Treviso an elegant and refined appearance: the
majesty of medieval palaces, recently restored, mirrors its past
centuries, rich in history and tradition.
The most important city library is the "Biblioteca Comunale"
in Borgo Cavour. It has been funded at the end of XIX century and
it represents an extraordinarily rich and vary cultural witness:
indeed it preserves ancient manuscripts of inestimable historical
value. Prestigious are the initiatives of Treviso "Ateneo",
funded during Napoleonic time and still operative. It is important
to remember the "Museo Civico", that, in different sites,
preserves documents attesting Treviso history and works of art representing
all the centuries.
Very well-known are the art exhibitions of Casa dei Carraresi, in
the historical centre of the city. Among famous impressionist painters
we can name Van Gogh, Monet, Sisley, Renoir, Cézanne, Rodin
who, with their prestigious works contributed to attract to Treviso
thousands of people fond of XIX century art, to visit the series
of exhibitions organized during these years.
